For sale is an odd Mac IIcx - its badge is missing. This came with a lot that has a few prototypes, mainly IIcx. But those were all DVT/PVT versions with a serial that indicated so. This one, just odd. There is no ghosting, so the badge was not removed. It just was never stamped - like most prototypes - but in this case the serial looks pretty normal. The board inside is nothing special too. It could be that it was a photo case at one point then had a serial added (kind doubt that). I think the most likely thing may be that it was simply produced without it? Factory goof? If so I never heard of that happening... But since it did come from a former Apple employee, maybe it was a goof and thus given/sold to Apple employees only?
Anyway, comes with what you see! Does NOT power on at all. There is some very light trace damages here and there, so it will need work beyond caps. Can cover has damaged corner. No hard drive, but floppy drive is in there. All internal cables included. Mainly just selling it because the missing badge is unique, otherwise this one would head off to e-waste.
