WHAT CAN IT DO ? :

• Record a "signature tune" or fanfare and play it when you appear on the air
• Record your CQ DX / calling channel call for transmission at the press of a button - no more repeatedly saying the same thing!

CONNECTIONS :

This unit connects to your CB Radio with 2 fitted cables - one to the microphone socket, the other to the extension speaker output. On the back of the Memobox is a standard 3.5mm socket for extension speaker output and on the front is a 4 pin Cobra/Uniden/Galaxy wired microphone socket

IN OPERATION :

NORMAL CB OPERATION : You can use the CB as normal with this box connected, your microphone plugs into the front of the Memobox and you can talk and receive as you would normally - the received sound from your radio is routed through the Memobox and out to your extension speaker (an extension speaker is required)

TO RECORD YOUR OWN VOICE OR SOME MUSIC : Simply press the PTT (transmit) button on your microphone and the REC button on the unit and recording starts (red LED comes on), the recording will automatically end after 20 seconds or you can press the STOP button on the unit to end. The red LED will go out when recording is finished. To record your voice simply speak into the microphone as normal... to record music simply hold the microphone up to the speaker or earphones of whatever you are playing the music through

TO RECORD THE RECEIVED SIGNALS FROM YOUR RADIO : Simply press the REC button on the unit, without pressing the mic button ... the unit will record your radios received audio directly from the radios extension speaker output. Volume of the recording is controlled by the volume control on the CB

TO PLAY BACK THE RECORDED SOUND : Press the PLAY button and the recorded sound is played back through your extension speaker, this allows you to make sure you are happy with the sound you have recorded before you transmit it. The green LED will light up during playback. Playback volume can be adjusted with the volume control

TO TRANSMIT THE RECORDED SOUND : Press the PLAY-XMIT button, the unit will switch your CB to transmit, play the sound then switch back to receive when the playback finishes - the green LED will light while the recording is being transmitted. Pressing the PLAY-XMIT button during playback will immediately start playback from the beginning again

PRODUCT FAQ'S :
Q : Do you have to have an extension speaker ?A : Yes, if you want to record the receive sound from your CB - the memobox plugs into the extension speaker output on the CB and the extension speaker plugs into the Memobox. If you do not have an extension speaker, and do not plug the Memobox into the speaker jack on the CB you can still record sounds through the microphone, but not from the CB
Q : Can i daisychain this with an EC-990 Echo Chamber ?A : Yes, this works very well, as long as they are wired the same. Which way round you have them is up to you!
Q : When the Memobox is switched off, can i talk through the microphone normally?A : Yes, when the unit is switched off, the CB will work just as it does without the unit connected
Q : Will this Memobox increase the volume of the transmitted audio?A : No, this unit does not increase the volume of your speech - if your CB/mic is quiet to start with, it will still be quiet with this unit connected
Q : I have a second CB which is a different wiring configuration, can i use a cross-adaptor with a Memobox?A : Yes, you can use a cross-adaptor on the input or output or both if necessary
Q : What are the holes on the side for?A : These are for the side screws which are provided with the supplied mounting bracketSHIPPING FAQ'S (INTERNATIONAL) :Q : How much is this Memobox in US$ or Euros?A : should show an approximation of what £52 works out in your local currency which you can see above (exchange rates vary on a daily/hourly basis). We have noticed (when buying from abroad ourselves) that the amount paypal actually charge you tends to be around 5% more than the price shows in it's approximation, plus the cost of shipping will be applied to your order
Q : Do you provide a tracking number?A : Yes, the standard international shipping on this product is tracked, either by "International Tracked" or"International Tracked & Signed-For". Both options are not available in all countries - theoptionsavailable for shipping to your country will be shown at checkout
Q : How long will it take to arrive?A : Europe :Parcels to European countries will normally arrive within 4-8 working days (Sundays are not included and neither is the day of despatch)
A :USA & Canada :Parcels should normally arrive with US buyers within 7-10 working days (this is TWO CALENDAR WEEKS as Sundays are not included and neither is the day of despatch.
A :Central & Southern America, Australasia etc :There are a lot of factors out of our control when sending to these locations. Sadly the postal service in some South American countries is very slow ... our parcels have to pass through the normal postal system in your country and will delivered by your normal postman/mailman so local service times greatly affect the speed of delivery.Parcels should normally arrive with buyers in the locations within 10-12 working days (this is MORE THAN TWO CALENDAR WEEKS as Sundays are not included and neither is the day of despatch).
There are sometimes delays in the postal system that are out of our control (usually backlogs of items being processed & checked as they enter the destination country) which might cause delivery to take longer than these, and more importantly, 's delivery estimates.Please be patient with us... Royal Mail do not consider a package to the US to be missing until 25 working days (5 calendar weeks), or 20 working days for parcels to Europe and so far nearly all of our despatches have arrived before this.
It is EXTREMELY rare for a tracked parcel to go missing... occasionally delayed but always delivered

Q : How quickly do you send these out?A : As quickly as possible - if we receive payment before 3pm UK time then we will send it out that same day... we post every weekday Monday to Friday.
Q: Do you make any profit on the shipping cost?A : No, it's actually the opposite - you will notice the postage amount printed on the label stuck to the parcel is more than you will have paid in shipping. This is because we offer free shipping within the UK and reduce the cost to our international customers by the same amount ... to be fair to everybody
