retro vintage 1984 Zenith Data Systems computer keyboard monitor CRT terminal

This listing is for a vintage Zenith Data Systems monitor and keyboard from 1984, which have never been removed from their boxes. I did cut the tape seal on them and open them just to take pics inside but they've never been unboxed, I felt it was necessary to look inside especially because the cardboard box for the monitor is pushed in on one side and I wanted to make sure it didn't get cracked or something, it was not affected by the box damage (the monitor I opened from both ends to look inside since it was packed face-down). It seems to me the monitor is a pretty standard monochrome unit with the old style round plug-in, but the keyboard seems to house the actual computer, kinda like the old Commodore VIC-20 or C-64 did. The boxes are a little weathered/aged but the parts inside look like new yet, they clearly were never opened or used. The last two pictures of my description are NOT of this set, but of another identical set that I did unbox, that's just added to show you what you get, that's not this actual set.
I never plugged this set in to test it, I never took them out of the box. However I actually found a few of these setups new in the box and the first one I did hook up and see if they would power on. The little LED light on the monitor came on and it seems like it might be fine, but the keyboard/computer part made an acrid, burning plastic smell and I immediately unplugged it, so I'm selling this set as-is with the knowledge that it's entirely possible that this set isn't going to work if you just plug it in. If you're an expert with old computers, I would urge you to do some testing before just plugging this in, like I tried on the first set. I'll box these two boxes inside another box so the original boxes don't get ruined. I did notice one of the stick-on labels for the monitor came off, it said 122 on the sticker but 123 underneath where the label had been stuck on, not sure what's up with that.
This would make a really cool display, especially since the original packaging and whatnot is all here, or might be a great starting point for a case mod to put modern guts inside, because the physical condition is really minty. But just know that at even though it's all never-used, I can't guarantee it's going to work as-is, the first set that I tried did not (at least, the computer/keyboard part didn't).

Usually I can ship stuff out within a couple days, but once in a while the shop is busy and it'll take a bit longer. Let me know if you need this right away and I'll see what I can do. Feel free to email me with any questions.
