Much like the other CPUs in the X3D family, the 9900X3D features AMD 3D V-Cache technology which is specifically designed to help boost gaming performance by placing the 12 cores and the 128MB of L3 cache close together. This CPU continues the trend of building upon the stable Zen 5 architecture, but what separates the 9900X3D is the 24-thread processing, 4.4 GHz base clock speed, and 5.5 GHz max boosted clock speed. AMD has also unlocked the CPU to make overclocking easier than ever. Connectivity isn't an issue for this CPU either as there is support for NVME, native USB 4, USB 3.2, and PCIe 5.0, so high-end graphics cards, SSDs, and up to 192GB of DDR5-5600 memory can be connected without worry.
