Installation :
The height of the CISS bottles is also important.The height of the CISS bottles should be almost same height with the printhead inside. But not higher than the horizontal height of printhead.
Above is HP 7740 printer, there are two paper boxes to increase the height.the horizontal height of printhead is also increased. After measuring, the height of the CISS bottle needs to be increased by approximately 12CM.So we need to find an object with height of 12CM (like paper box) to be put under the CISS bottle.
Settings:
After the cartridges are installed, please clean the printhead. Method is as below:
Click “settings”---> “printer maintenance”--->”clean the printhead”
Then the printer will automatically print a test page, observe the colors and texts. If there is no problem, the printer can work normally.
FAQs about CISS and solutions:
Question 1: Install the CISS, the printer alerts “cartridge error” “cartridge broken””cartridge problem” etc
Solution:
A. Take out all the CISS cartridges. Then which color was shown error just now, install that color of the original ink cartridges/ compatible ink cartridges.(ONLY the install error color, don’t install other non-error color). This will make the printer recognize that specific color. Then change to CISS cartridges.
B. Check if the cartridges leak, or broken, if there is a lot of air inside the tubes. If the cartridges leak, change the cartridges. Then draw the air out from the tubes and cartridges.
C. Check if the chips are installed correctly, or if the chips are broken, Then re-install the chips, or change chips.
Question 2: Install the CISS, the printer will process the self-test for a few minutes. Then alert “cartridges used up” or “consumables used up”
A. Take out the CISS, install a set of original ink cartridges/compatible ink cartridges. And see if it can print well. If it still alerts “cartridges used up”, then change the carriage inside the printhead.
B. Take out the CISS and the printhead, disassemble the carriage of printhead. And see if the diaphragm seal on the carriage is broken. If it’s broken, change a new diaphragm seal.
C.Check if the cartridges leak, or broken, if there is a lot of air inside the tubes. If the cartridges leak, change the cartridges. Then draw the air out from the tubes and cartridges.
Question 3: Install the CISS, the printer finished the self-test. The printer can print. But the colors are not good, or lack of color, or printing disconnection, the ink absorbed on paper. etc
A. Check if the CISS bottle is placed at a proper height. Adjust the height. (Please refer to the installation instruction)
B. Check if there is a lot of air inside the cartridges and tubes.
C. If there is only lack of color or printing disconnection, no other problems, then check if the printhead is clogged. Install a set of original ink cartridges/ compatible cartridges to print. If the problem still remains, it proves the printhead is clogged, change or maintain the printhead.
