This exhaust DPF gasket will effectively secure the connection between the Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF), Diesel Oxidation Catalyst (DOC), and other exhaust components. Further restricting high-temperature or high-pressure from escaping from the joint. This crucial component will limit the chances of any leaks while maintaining turbocharger performance.Quality Construction: This DPF gasket is constructed from a combination of multi-layer steel (often stainless steel), composite graphite, ceramic composites, and high-temperature fibrers. It will efficiently withstand high exhaust temperatures. This is great for heavy-duty commercial vehicles. The gasket will provide mechanical strength when clamped between two exhaust components.
When to Replace: Check the signs below for long-lasting performance or protect yourself from high service amounts.
- Visible damage like cracks, expansion joints, leaks near the joint, black soot deposits, or carbon tracking.
- Alignment issues with adjoining sections
- Distorted/warped due to heat or physical impact.
- Loose or broken hardware.
- Regular vibration causes bolts to loose and the gasket to shift.
Maintenance Tips: The exhaust components are subject to variable stresses and the environment. That's why they require the required steps for long-lasting performance. Extend the lift and check the pointers below:-
- Regularly inspect and check for defects/damages. Replace it immediately after diagnosis.
- Follow the maintenance interval either annually or after every 100,000 miles.
- Do check the parts after a salted road environment, as it increases corrosion speed.
