These Category 5e shielded patch cables are designed to protect critical data from EMI (ElectroMagnetic interference), which is known to degrade, disrupt, or even interrupt connectivity.
Electromechanical devices, such as electric motors, transformers, magnets, and fluorescent lighting ballast cause this type of interference.

These shielded cables are made of four twisted 26AWG pure copper wire pairs wrapped in aluminum shielding foil with a PVC jacket and snagless molded boot.
