This is a PCIe x4 to SATA-II hardware RAID card capable of hosting even boot partitions transparently to the OS. This is quite an old card, and you will not be achieving record-setting read/write speeds with it. But, if you want cheap RAID that is offloaded from the CPU, this will get the job done. Includes all that is pictured: just the card and the breakout cable. Does not include a battery backup unit, though the card is compatible with one.
