Up for sale are what appear to be brand new, old stock Asrock BC-250 APUs. I pulled them from two complete in-box Asrock 4u12g servers that have been sitting on a shelf. The cards and servers show no signs of use but some of the heat sinks show some small scratches or dulling on the aluminum. Does not affect performance but I always note everything in my listings.
Heatsink and back plate has never been removed/opened as the warranty sticker is still in tact over the screw head.
All units have been flashed with the popular v3.0 modded bios, which is the recommended way to unlock the BC-250's full potential. Post flash, each unit was pulled from the 4u12g server chasis, CMOS batteries were pulled and replaced with a brand new one, and each individual board was then powered on separately again, this time using the on-board 8-pin molex connector using a standard PC power supply. All 4 USB and Ethernet connections are confirmed working, along with the fan header. Each APU was booted successfully into Bazzite and Steam and tested to work with a compatible game (Rocket League to be exact).
The heatsinks remain in original stock condition and have not been modified. You will need to provide adequate cooling for the card.Please do your own research prior to buying. The VRAM comes correctly set at 512mb inside the bios, which is the necessary setting to enable dynamic VRAM within Bazzite and enable the games to pull as much memory as needed from the shared 16gb.
These are repurposed boards running custom firmware built by an amazing community of contributors. Once configured and setup, they make solid Linux gaming machines, but NOTE: These are not ready to go, Steam Machines, out of the box. I will guarantee that each board purchased is working as advertised, but given the use cases for these, I cannot accept any returns.
Each board will be shipped in an Anti Static Bag for additional protection and will be fully encased in foam packing peanuts. I purchased brand new shipping boxes just specifically for these boards. Please see my prior response for proof. I take ALOT of care in packaging all of my packages because it's the way I would want to receive an awesome new gaming component personally.
