Help keep the classic chips inside your Commodore 64 running cooler with this special set of 11 high-surface-area pure copper heatsinks.
Unlike the small flat aluminum heatsinks commonly used in retro computers, these heatsinks are made from copper and feature a tall multi-pin design that provides substantially more exposed surface area for heat dissipation.
Specifications:
* Quantity: 9 heatsinks
* Material: Pure copper
* Size: approximately 22mm × 8mm × 7mm
* High-density pin-fin design
* Suitable for many DIP ICs used throughout the Commodore 64
* Excellent for restoration, preservation, and long-running C64 systems
The photos show these heatsinks installed on an actual Commodore 64 motherboard for illustration. Their narrow 22mm × 8mm footprint makes them especially useful for cooling individual IC packages while still providing a large amount of copper surface area.
Copper has excellent thermal conductivity and is an ideal material for pulling heat away from vintage integrated circuits. With many original Commodore 64 chips now more than 40 years old—and increasingly difficult to replace—additional cooling can be a worthwhile addition to a restored machine.
Installation:
Each heatsink comes with pre-applied thermal adhesive tape on the bottom for quick and easy installation. Simply peel off the protective backing and firmly press the heatsink onto the top of the chip. No separate thermal paste or adhesive is required.
You will receive 11 new copper heatsinks as shown in the product photos. Commodore 64 computer and motherboard shown in the installation photos are not included.
