Two portable SSDs from my video kit: a Crucial X10 Pro 1TB and a SanDisk Portable SSD 2TB. 3TB between them, for well under what they'd cost new.
The Crucial X10 Pro is the fast one. It's rated up to 2,100MB/s read and 2,000MB/s write on a USB 3.2 Gen 2x2 (20Gbps) port, which is quick enough to edit 4K and even 6K footage straight off the drive. On a Mac or any regular 10Gbps USB-C port it still runs around 1,000MB/s. Crucial is winding down its consumer line, so these are getting harder to find.
The SanDisk 2TB is the workhorse. Rubberized shell, a loop for clipping it to a bag, and plenty of room for backups, archives or a media library. Not as fast as the Crucial, but more than fast enough for offloading cards and day-to-day storage.
Both work perfectly. I've wiped them and formatted them exFAT, so they'll plug straight into a Mac or a PC. They were used on real shoots and look like it: scuffs and marks on the cases, which you can see in the photos. None of it affects how they work.
Drives only, no cables. Any USB-C cable will work. For full speed on the Crucial, use a 20Gbps-rated cable on a port that supports it.
They're used, so the manufacturer warranties don't carry over. If something isn't right when they arrive, message me and I'll sort it out.
Ships fast in a padded mailer.
