About this BuildI've always wanted to do a compact Mini-ITX build with higher-end components for the era, and I finally got around to it. My goal with this build was to cover the entire Windows XP era as well as a few years beyond that - namely, years 2001 through 2009. With a GeForce GTX 745 video card, 4 GB of DDR3 ram, a solid state hard drive, and a 3rd-gen Intel i5 processor, this is a snappy machine that will run most games from that era.

Windows 7 SetupAll drivers and updates along with the most recent version of Chrome (v109) that 7 supports, Supremium v144 for modern web browsing,, DirectX 11, System Center Endpoint Protection (which still receives daily definition updates as of October 2026), and the .net framework are installed, as is Classic Shell.
