This is an original adapter cable for Sigma Designs RealMagic MPEG decoder cards, converting the card's 8-pin mini DIN video output to a standard 15-pin VGA (DB15) female connector. It allows the RealMagic card's video output to be routed to a VGA monitor or display device. The cable has been tested and is in working order.

• Includes: cable Designs RealMagic cards were a line of MPEG-1 and MPEG-2 hardware decoder add-in cards for PCs, produced primarily in the mid-to-late 1990s. Models such as the RealMagic Hollywood Plus allowed PCs to play DVD and Video CD content smoothly at a time when software-only decoding was beyond the CPU capabilities of most consumer hardware. These cards used a proprietary 8-pin mini DIN connector to pass decoded video to a monitor or to loop through the VGA signal, and this adapter cable was the interface between the card's video output and a standard VGA monitor. RealMagic cards were popular in early DVD-ROM PC setups and among home theater PC builders of that era. Replacement and spare adapter cables for these cards are sought by collectors and technicians maintaining legacy systems from that period.
