ENGLISH:For sale the very rare and much sought after original Compaq LTE 5000 laptop, featuring a Pentium 75 Mhz CPU, 40 MB RAM, 2 GB Hard Disk, 10.4" 640x480 TFT screen.Keyboard layout is British, floppy disk drive works, original power supply brick can operate on 100 to 240V, 50/60Mhz, it should work basically everywhere. No cd-rom on this unit, but it does feature the multibay technology so you can swap between cd and floppy drive if you have a compatible cd-unit. Otherwise you need an external cd reader. In my opinion this laptop is in beautiful conditions. BIOS has been updated to the latest firmware. Everything works, except the removable battery pack hosted on the right side of the front panel: I don't like old battery packs, they don't hold the charge anymore and they often leak acid destroying stuff. So instead of throwing it away and leaving a hole on the front panel I force-opened the pack (something I recommend you don't do unless you're an expert), removed the batteries from inside and glued it back together so I could place it back in its slot and keep the normal appearance without risking leaks. Clock battery is present and works when it feels like it, if you let the unit powered-off for months it looses all the charge but then comes back to life. One annoying defect: the power-off button keeps jumping out of its location, this is a common issue on LTE notebooks and I recommend placing a piece of tape on top of it or it's going to drive you insane.Included accessories (picture 6): a small Compaq branded case, a couple of diagnostics and modem diskettes, Compaq branded PS/2 mouse (tested and working but has yellowed over time).Included are also a few spare parts (picture 7): a spare power supply (tested and working), the original 24 MB RAM module including bracket for quick installation (tested and working), a spare floppy unit (tested and working), 2 GB hard disk already hosted in LTE HD case (tested and working, currently dos formatted, no data in it), spare plastic cover for back ports.
