This is a Western Digital WD My Book Essential 2TB USB 3.0 HDD that was used for about a year as a storage and Time Machine backup drive. Has always worked reliably and without any trouble. Has just been securely wiped and fully tested. All SMART tests in the WD utilites have passed.
Ships packed securely with the external drive, a USB 3.0 cable, and a power supply. All these parts have been tested together and work with no problems.
There are some cosmetic scuffs on the piano-black plastic exterior that don't impact the functionality of the drive at all, and aren't noticeable to me in normal lighting. I've included some images showing these scuffs under pretty exaggerated lighting (bright reflections on the surface) just for full disclosure.
Thanks for looking!
