You are offerding on an original WWI German Army NCO's "ULANKA" tunic. This tunic was purchased in the early 1990's from the sale held by MGM in Hollywood, California. The quality of this piece is superb and not something that was just made up for a movie. After WWI the numerous movie studios in the United States purchased tons and tons of surplus uniforms from Europe, this is one of them. As shown in the photos the front of the tunic has a tear in it about 9" long, this could be stitched back by a good tailor and it is also hidden when the yellow "bib" is buttoned on. There are a few scattered moth holes, but nothing large and nothing really noticeable. I have a 17 unmatched buttons, the tunic requires 22, these should be easy to find. None of the buttons are actually sewn on, I just placed them on the tunic for the photos. Tunic is constructed from a fine dark wool material with yellow wool cuffs and collar. Once restored you will have a fantastic early WWI German tunic that will make a superb addition to your collection!
