The elements in this antenna are similar to those inside most cellular and WiFi Internet gateway/routers. Placing the antenna next to the gateway/router will not improve your signal. Placing this antenna away from the gateway/router in a location with better signal coverage will improve signal quality and data throughput speeds. Maximize the values of SINR and RSRQ, not RSSI, RSRP or "bars".

When affixed to a metal surface measuring at least 10cm*10cm, it can achieve a maximum gain of 6dBi.

How to set up external cellular antenna?

After connecting the Maswell Antenna, ensure you switch to the external antenna mode in your router or network settings. This step is crucial because, by default, routers use their internal antennas. If you don't switch to the external antenna option, the internal antenna will remain active, and the external antenna won't work as intended. So, for the best results, don't forget to make this important adjustment.
