Virtual File Support
BackupEDGE can backup and restore virtual files (also called sparse files), which are common to many database applications. When restoring a sparse file, BackupEDGE will automatically `re-virtualize' it to its original state.

In the case of unattended (scheduled) backups, BackupEDGE can be configured to send email notification when a new volume is needed.
Wildcard Support

Raw Device Backups
