FOR SALE: CHUWI LarkBox X dual-port router/firewall running OPNsense.

The device is a compact (footprint 5 in / 127 mm square) home PC, which we converted into a dual-port network router running OPNsense, an open-source operating system for networking equipment. The device came to us new in factory packaging. We opened the box only to install and test OPNsense.

To ensure the device works right out of the box, we made a few changes to the initial OPNsense configuration. A detailed configuration note will be provided to the buyer. Alternatively, the buyer could simply reset the software to its initial state.

The device runs on an Intel N100 processor with 12 GB of RAM and a 512 GB SSD. Networking is handled by Realtek network interface cards (there are two; one is Gigabit RTL8111/8168/8411, which we have configured to be the WAN port, the other is 2.5-Gigabit RTL8125, which we have configured to be the LAN port). To improve the performance and stability of the Realtek cards, we have installed the os-realtek-re plugin developed by the OPNsense team.

The device is implemented in a desktop form factor. The case is two-tone (black-and-white) polycarbonate plastic.

The device is actively cooled. The round perforated black inset on top of the device appears to be the air intake; the exhaust is in the rear of the device, above the Ethernet and USB ports. Under low-load operating conditions, the fan is inaudible.

The device is in excellent, like-new, physical condition. Because we received the device new and blemish-free, we broke our usual rule and used manufacturer\'s stock images for this listing.

The buyer will receive the device in its factory packaging; the package includes a power supply unit and a VESA mounting kit.
