Why pay more and get less? JJM Computers offers an upgraded Wow! computer (8 GB memory and SSD instead of the standard 2 GB memory and slow spinning drive) at a competitive price.

For the unfamiliar, a Solid State Drive (SSD) is like a hard drive but uses nonvolatile (does not lose data when powered down) memory chips entirely - no moving parts and very fast and quiet! An upgrade which replaces a spinning hard drive with an SSD has long been recognized as is a good way to breathe more life into older systems.

This is the Wow! Computer for Seniors.  It is an MSI-A7CD all-in-one computer with a custom locked-down Linux distribution originally sold and marketed by Venture 3 LLC.   It provides an easy-to-use touch screen interface (screen measured at 21.5" diagonal, quoted in some sources as 22"), and is marketed for its simplicity and ease of use.  CPU is two Intel Celeron 1037U 1.8 GHz cores.

NOTE: YOU DO NOT NEED TO BE FAMILIAR WITH LINUX TO USE THIS MACHINE!

It has been cleaned up and upgraded by our Staff Electrical Engineer (AARP member, 30 years Linux experience):

* Disassembled, dust and debris blasted out.

* The original 2GB memory / 500 GB spinning drive have been replaced with 8GB memory and a 512 GB SSD.

* Updated to latest vendor software version 3.9.9.

* Prior-owner Personally Identifiable Information (PII) was expunged.

* The performance is noticeably improved over the 'stock' configuration (boot-up time halved, overall more responsive and quieter).

* Power supply included.

If you are in need of a Wow! Computer system for a user, perhaps a friend or relative, who has owned one of these before, knows what they like, and needs a replacement, then we may be able to make a deal.

The listing price includes the cost of acquiring the system (which is variable, the cheaper we can buy them the cheaper we can resell them to you), the memory and SSD upgrades, the replacement for missing power supply, the replacement for missing keyboard and mouse, as well as time for performing the upgrades (some tricky Linux configuration involved). We believe we have put together a quality upgraded system at a reasonable price, which compares very favorably to other listing for these machines on , and we welcome buyers who want to make this machine theirs.

Note:  This computer is offered in 3 pricing configurations: used keyboard and mouse, new standard keyboard and mouse, and new premium large-character backlit keyboard and mouse.

Ready to ship, weighs in just under 21 pounds boxed, including keyboard and mouse.
