Description:

This cable is a convenient and easy way to connect any internal SATA drive to a PC's internal SATA bus from outside a PC.

It has an eSATAp connector on one end and a standard SATA internal drive connector (with power) on the other end.

The eSATAp connector combines the features of eSATA and USB, and can supply power to the connected device.

The SATA connector can connect to any internal SATA drive, such as hard disk drives (HDDs) or optical drives.

The cable length is 19 inches, which is long enough to reach most external drive enclosures.

The cable supports 2.5" SATA HDDs on any system equipped with an eSATAp port, and supports 3.5" SATA HDDs and 5.25" optical drives on a desktop system equipped with a 12V eSATAp port.

The PC will recognize the drive as if it was installed inside the PC, without requiring any software installation.

This cable is ideal for accessing data from internal drives without opening the PC case, or for testing or troubleshooting purposes.

Because the drive is not enclosed, the circuit board is exposed and can be easily shorted out if you allow it to come into contact with a conducting surface or object. DO NOT place the drive on a metal surface or allow metal objects (such as screws) to come into contact with the circuit board. Best to place the drive circuit board side down on top of a nonconducting surface. The box for this converter cable serves as an excellent surface on which to place the drive.
