Here is the 14" color terminal monitor that Digital Equipment Corporation (DEC) sold from 1987 to 1990. This particular DEC VT340-A2 was made in July 1988 and used by a steel mill in Gary, IN.
DEC's VT340 has more RAM than previous models, so that a user can scroll up and down through three pages of text and edit it before sending it. It is also the first DEC terminal to allow full screen bitmapped grapics. at an 800 x 500 resolution.
This monitor powers on consistently, but it never beeps, and I have not seen any display. I also note some burned in text and lines in the CRT. The case and swivel base are still intact, with no cracks.
Local pickup in zip code 60438 is free. Shipping rates are calculated by without any fee for handling or packing materials. I will tightly wrap the monitor in cardboard, and then in bubblewrap before placing it in a large outer box, with spacers.
