2001 Apple Mac OS X Version 10.0 — OS + Developer Tools, Two-CD Set — the original retail install CD paired with the matching Developer Tools CD, the complete developer kit as Apple shipped it in March 2001. Disc 1 is the Mac OS X 10.0 "Cheetah" consumer install CD, Apple part number 1Z691-2974-A. Disc 2 is the Mac OS X Developer Tools CD, Apple part number 1Z691-2963-A, which holds the Xcode Tools installer — Project Builder, Interface Builder, the gcc 2.95 toolchain, Carbon/Cocoa headers, and the developer documentation set that turned the new Darwin/BSD-based OS into something you could actually build apps on. Mac OS X 10.0 was the very first public release of the OS X line on March 24, 2001, replacing Classic Mac OS on the beige Power Mac G3/G4 and early iMac G3 era, and this two-disc set is exactly what an early Mac developer would have had on their desk in 2001 to install the OS and then build the first generation of native Cocoa and Carbon apps. Honest note: 10.0 was famously rough — Steve Jobs later admitted it shipped about six months too early — which is why a complete, intact 10.0 + Developer Tools set is harder to find complete than the more common 10.1 or 10.2 kits. Both discs show light cosmetic wear from storage; no deep scratches or cracks; tested to read clean.
