Alfa AWUS036ACM brings long range 802.11ac technology to PCs at anaffordable cost.It is a new long range dual antenna 867 MbpsWi-Fi USB adapter compatible with Windows XP through Windows 10. Itfeatures two RP-SMA antenna ports, and two 5 dBi dual-band antennas.The antennas are detachable and can be upgraded.This is similar to Alfa's popular AWUS036AC model but uses a Mediatek MT7612U chipset inside instead of Realtek.
AWUS036ACM is capable of receiving and transmitting on both the 2.4 GHzand 5 Ghz bands. With 802.11ac standard routers, AWUS036AC can acheivethroughput speeds up to 867 Mbps, almost three times that of the802.11n maximum of 300 Mbps. This adapter is backward compatible with802.11b and 802.11g networks, but will have limited speed with thosenetworks. An 802.11ac router is required for the maximum throughput.
The dual antennas and high receive sensitivity also allow it to pick upWi-Fi signals from up to 2 times the distance of newer internal802.11ac Wi-Fi cards shipping inside today's laptops.
