Fire up your King's Quest, Zork, or Alley Cat 5.25" floppy disks, crank up the synth tunes, and marvel at genuine 1984 cathode-ray tube color—the golden dawn of early PC and microcomputing is here!
Up for sale is an elusive, top-tier display from the golden era of 1980s computing: the Amdek Color 700 (Model No. Color 700), manufactured in December 1984 in Japan. In an era when most home computer users were stuck squinting at blurry composite color TV sets or monochrome green phosphor screens, the Amdek 700 was the ultimate high-end premium upgrade, boasting dedicated high-resolution RGB/CGA input with rich 16-color clarity.
With its iconic angular beige housing, recessed adjustment controls, front text-mode toggle switch, and dark-tinted high-contrast screen, this display represents peak 1984 industrial styling. It is the perfect period-correct companion display for an IBM PC (5150), PC XT (5160), Apple II series (via compatible RGB card), Commodore, or early vintage PC-clone battlestation!
