The PowerBook starts and reaches the Mac OS X first-run setup screen, as shown in the current photos. It has been left at that screen for its next owner.

Optical drive:I do not have a compatible disc and have not been able to verify or test the drive since. Please consider the optical drive’s functionality unknown and do not purchase this PowerBook expecting it to read discs.

This is a vintage PowerPC Mac. It does not boot Mac OS 9 directly. Mac OS X Leopard is installed. It is sold as-is, no returns.
