Vintage Commodore 64 computer in its original retail box with matching serial number. Tested and working.
The computer is serial P01688148, and importantly, the serial number on the original Commodore box matches the computer. That is a significant plus for collectors and makes this a much more desirable package than a C64 simply paired with a random period box.
This is the classic early-style Commodore 64 “breadbin” with rainbow badge. It includes the original matching box and internal cardboard packaging, Commodore power supply, and the smoked/tinted CM-410 keyboard dust cover with its instruction sheet. The cover itself is a nice period accessory.
The computer is in good vintage condition overall with a clean keyboard, intact badges and labels, and relatively nice cosmetics for its age. Please note the case does have a noticeable gap/separation along the rear/side area, as clearly shown in the photos. It appears the case is not seating completely together, possibly due to an internal mounting/fit issue, but I have not disassembled it to determine the exact cause. I don’t want to speculate beyond that. The computer has nevertheless been tested and is working.
The original box shows expected age, edge wear, creasing and some damage, but remains very displayable and retains its graphics, internal packaging and, most importantly, the matching serial-number identification.
Included exactly as pictured:
- Commodore 64 computer — serial P01688148
- Original Commodore 64 retail box — matching serial P01688148
- Original/internal cardboard packaging
- Commodore power supply
- CM-410 smoked keyboard dust cover
- CM-410 assembly/instruction sheet
TESTED AND WORKING.
This is a particularly appealing C64 package because you’re getting the actual serial-number-matched computer and original box, rather than a loose machine assembled with an unrelated box later. Please examine the photos closely for cosmetic condition, box wear, and the described case gap.
