The Digital DEC 3000 Model 500 and 400 AXP Computer take this "memory mother board" (MMB).SIMMs must be installed eight at a time, two in each MMB, starting with the lowest numbered sockets. Comes installed with 8X32 MB (removable) memory.You can upgrade your Digital DEC 3000 Model 500 AXP Computer to up to a maximum memory capacity of 1.0 GB Memory.The Computer can have a max of 32 sockets (4 banks of 8) on four "memory mother boards" MMBs.In the 3000AXP series, the Sandpiper Model 400 and Flamingo Model 500 used proprietary 100-pin, 40-bit (32 bits plus 8 bits ECC) Fast Page Mode SIMMs with capacities of 2 MB, 4 MB, 8 MB, 16 MB or ***32 MB***.[1] These were eight-way interleaved, providing a 256-bit-wide bus to memory. TheSandpiper Model 400 had two MMBs, eight-SIMM MMBs, for up to 512 MB total system RAM, while theFlamingo Model 500 had four MMBs and supported up to 1 GB.
