This unit helped me hit a dead Wi-Fi area of the house with a signal strong enough to stream video on a smart TV. Subsequent Wi-Fiupgrades alleviated my issue, so after approx. 5-years of being in service the unit is no longer needed. The Hawking HD9DP is a Hi-Gain Dual-Band 9dBi Directional Antenna Kit designed to extend and focus the range of 802.11 a/b/g/n Wi-Fi devices. By replacing standard 2dBi antennas with the 9dBi directional antenna, it increases wireless coverage and strength for home or professional environments.Key Technical SpecificationsOrganized details of the Hawking HD9DP:

• Antenna Type: Directional Panel
• Frequency Band Support: Dual-band (2.4GHz and 5GHz)
• Wireless Standards: 802.11a/b/g/n
• Gain: 9dBi (decibels)
• Connector Type: RP-SMA
• Design: Compact, lightweight, with wall or window mounting capabilities

Performance & Impact

• Signal Boosting: Increases wireless signal strength from a baseline 2dBi to 9dBi.
• Coverage Increase: Provides up to a 350% increase in wireless coverage area in the direction the antenna is pointed.
• Interference Reduction: Because the antenna is directional, it focuses the signal into a targeted beam rather than broadcasting in all directions, which helps block out off-angle signal interference.
