I tested it with the power adapted and the device does turn on, open up, and show up on my computer. Note you need the weird looking power adapter to power it, and then a USB cable to make it work. I used both of these to test it, but neither are included in the sale unless you want to buy them from me for an additional cost. The DVD tray only opens up when you have power.
Device is in good cosmetic condition with no nicks or major scratches. There is some wear at the top front of the DVD drive, which may or may not be able to be seen in the photos. On the middle on the long side, you will see a seam. One one side, it feels a little loose.
The device does have a fan in the back, so it does make noise.
Note, I did not put a DVD inside of it and play it, the most I did was plug the device into my computer and see that my computer recognized it, which can be seen in the last photo.
