This is an excellent example of IBM's final PS/2 machine - the PS/2 Server 95, Model 9595.
The computer is in fantastic cosmetic condition, with no cracks or breaks in the front and rear faceplates, and only some very minor yellowing. The metal housing is in excellent shape with only a few minor scuffs. This machine is extremely clean inside as well, and the foam around the fan assembly is in perfect shape. The information panel on the front works great - it is nice a bright and looks super cool.
This Server 95 is equipped with the 66 MHz Pentium CPU option and has 32MB RAM installed. It is currently running Windows NT Server 3.51. However, one RAM stick might be bad - the computer gave me a memory error, and after running the built-in hardware test, the system identified the RAM stick in position B2 as faulty, and disabled it. After doing this, I was able to boot into Windows NT. Please see the photos for this diagnostic message. Everything else tested good during the diagnostic test.
Hardware installed:- 2.88 MB Extended Density floppy drive- Original IBM 1GB SCSI hard drive- Original IBM SCSI caddy CD-ROM drive- IBM 74F9415 Token Ring Adapter- IBM XGA-2 card
The OS is currently password protected, and I have not attempted to bypass the password. This is relatively easy to do, however, if you wish, or you can do a fresh Windows NT install.
This system comes from my personal collection and a smoke-free home. These 9595s are very hard to find, especially in such nice complete condition. Due to the size and weight of this computer (about 60 pounds), shipping is expensive.
If at all possible, local pickup is preferred, however I am very experienced and skilled at packing/shipping large heavy computer items safely. It will be double-boxed with separate cardboard reinforcements on each end of the computer, and the front faceplate and all cards inside will be shipped in a separate box. Please allow several days for me to pack it properly.
I recently shipped another 9595 to California, and it came to about $150. Since California is about the farthest distance in the US I could ship to, I have set the shipping at the estimated maximum - I am happy to reimburse the difference if you are much closer and the resulting shipping cost much lower.
