IBM ThinkPad A21e laptop sold for parts or repair — not working. It begins to power on but shuts off before booting. No BIOS screen or other screen display appears during the attempted startup. The cause of the failure has not been determined.

The plastic casing/body has cracking, particularly around the left and right hinges. The plastic casing sections around both hinges have broken off, exposing the metal hinges underneath. Please review the photos carefully for the extent of the damage.
