Intel RES2SV240 SAS-2 Expander 24-Port 6Gbps Expansion Adapter

Listed for sale here is an Intel RES2SV240 SAS-2 Expander 24-port adapter. This allows you to expand the number of hard drives you can connect to with your SAS controller without having to add another SAS controller.

CAUTION: THIS IS NOT A HBA SAS CONTROLLER. THIS CARD DOES NOT WORK BY ITSELF.

I have fully tested these units in my server with an LSI SAS2008 based HBA SAS controller running ZFS on Linux. If you need an HBA to go with this, please check out the "HBA IT mode controllers" section of my store.
