Description:
If the conductive coating on the end of the keyboard's FFC (Flexible Flat Cable) is damaged this kit may be able to repair it if there is enough of the conductive coating left.
For the Acorn A3000, A3010, A3020 Computer Keyboard.
Includes:
- 2x 20 way connectors, which are crimped onto the trimmed keyboard FFCs
- 2x 20 way pin strips, either for soldering to the motherboard replacing the existing FFC connector OR for insertion into the motherboard FFC connector* if damage to the motherboard socket doesn't preclude it.
Complete with printed fitting instructions.
* If you're pushing the pins into the FFC socket on the motherboard then you may need to equalise the length of the pins in the strip with a small pair of pliers so that there is more length of pin to fit in the connector and in the FFC socket.
Note for A3010 & A3020 users the connectors are too thick to fit through the slot in the metal drive tray, so you will need to cut this to make a suitable slot.
