I put in the unit's number online and it seems clear to be activated for the 1st time with the promotional deals for data service. Disregard that the box says only 500MB as that was the promotional deal at the time. Now for new device activation they are in GBs. Please understand this is a no contract, pay as you go hotspot. You will need to purchase data in order to use it either online or possibly also in person on a card. Be careful with your data use. If you are using it for data heavy activities or leaving it connected for a long time to something continuously using data, it will use up your data quicker than you anticipated.
