Synchrotech's Elan PCI to PC Card adapter supports two independent card sockets compliant with the 16 bit PC Card standard. The reader provides a rich feature set, making it ideal for bridging between PCI and PC Card in desktop computers. Units comply with the 16 bit PC Card specifications and supports any combination of 8 bit or 16 bit PC Cards in the two sockets, powered at 5.0V or 3.3V as required. The two slot design accommodates combinations of up to two Type I or two Type II cards simultaneously, or one Type III card. The reader does not support 32 bit CardBus Cards.

The internal model's card slots are contained in a standard 3.5" drive bay, providing the reader with easy front access for card insertions. The host system interface for the readers is compliant with the PCI Local Bus Specification 2.1 or greater. This reader supports most 16 bit PC Card applications including: Wireless LAN Card (802.11b, Bluetooth, etc.), SRAM cards, Linear Flash cards, ATA cards, Modem cards and LAN cards as long as they are supported by the host operating system. This device is listed as P423 on the DEXIS System Requirements documentation. Software is not included.
