Canon makes two versions of these printer models: a 5-cartridge version and a 6-cartridge version that adds a Photo Blue cartridge. After installation, if the printer displays a cartridge error, please follow the reset steps below to resume normal printing.This is a NON-OEM replacement product, not manufactured by Installation Notice:
• Turn on the printer and open the scanning unit / cartridge access cover. The print head holder moves to the replacement position.
• Push the tab on the empty ink tank and lift it out. Replace ink tanks one at a time — do not remove two or more at the same time.
• Unpack the new cartridge, remove the orange tape completely, then remove the protective film completely. Lift the tab on the orange protective cap to remove it gently. Do not touch the open ink port or the chip contacts.
• Insert the cartridge into the matching slot — check that the position matches the label on the print head holder.
• Press on the top of the cartridge until it snaps firmly into place. Repeat for each of the five cartridges, then close the cover.
• The printer starts cleaning the print head automatically after replacement. Do not perform other operations until it finishes.🔧 Chip / Firmware Notice:
• This cartridge is equipped with a new chip for reliable recognition, so your printer can identify the cartridge properly and display ink levels.
• Upon installation, your printer may display a "Non-Canon" or similar message. This is completely normal for a compatible cartridge — simply press OK / Continue / Accept to proceed and start printing.
• If a cartridge is not recognized, turn the printer off, reinstall the cartridge firmly until it clicks, then power it back on. Do not touch the chip contacts.
