Vintage Radio Shack 4-Port USB Hub with Original Box and Manual (As-Is)Description
Up for sale is a vintage Radio Shack brand 4-Port USB hub. The USB hub is operational, but the LED indicators don\'t always work as they should. Normally, the power indicator light (which is red) would turn on the minute that the AC Adapter is plugged in. Upon testing it out recently, I\'ve noticed that sometimes it turns on and at other times, it emits a dimmer glow. Once the USB connection is established, all the lights will turn on as they should. I\'m not exactly sure if this is an actual fault, because the manual states that this hub can function in a low power mode for more passive peripherals such as a USB keyboard and/or whatnot which could be the reason why these lights don\'t light up as they should. All I know is that the USB is working once everything is connected and a USB device; like a thumb drive for example.
The USB hub comes with it\'s original AC Adapter and a silvery transparent looking USB power plug. I\'m not quite sure if this is the original one that came with it, but judging from photos of similar listings, this appears to be the right one for that method of manufacture was pretty common place at the time since everybody was copying Apple\'s aesthetics during that era. The box and manual are also included, albeit a bit of wear and tear on them both; which came about from general age and storage. Please be aware that no warranties and implied nor is there any guarantee as to whether or not this unit still operates to the best of its capability. Not only is this unit just a piece of tech, but it\'s also a bit of computer history and a bit of nostalgia for one of the biggest chain technology stores that\'s sadly no longer around.I\'m listing this item in as-is condition and pricing it to move, so please be sure to get in on this deal while it still lasts, for my loss is your gain as they say in the trade.
