Seagate BarraCuda 8TB internal hard drive, model ST8000DM004. 3.5-inch, SATA 6Gb/s, 5400 RPM, 256MB cache. Multiple units available; you receive one drive per unit purchased.
Condition and testing:- Used. Run 24/7 in a Chia farm. Purchased new for Chia farming; written once during plotting, then mostly read-only farming, so far less wear than the same hours in a NAS or server.- SMART checked with CrystalDiskInfo before listing: health Good, 0 reallocated sectors, 0 pending sectors, 0 uncorrectable sectors on every unit offered here. Any drive that did not pass is excluded from this listing.- About 26,000 to 39,500 power-on hours (most between 34,000 and 38,500), but very few power cycles (about 20 to 40) on every drive.- A CrystalDiskInfo screenshot is in the photos. Ask and I can send the report for the exact drive you receive.
Please note: this model uses SMR (shingled) recording. It is well suited to desktop storage, backups, media and Chia, but SMR drives are generally not recommended for RAID or ZFS arrays.
