Sony SRX-T420, 4K, 21,000 lumen projector.
Condition is used. The unit has quite a few scuffs and scratches on the body due to handling, and one corner is bent a little bit(see last picture), nothing that affects it's operation though. The projector was aquired from an art college that went out of business due to covid, so it should operate fine. Sony Lkrl-Z214 Projection Lens is included. Price is negotiable. Feel free to send us an offer. Local pickup only.
Overview
As soon as the first SXRD 4K projectors were introduced in 2005, the ultra high resolution and picture quality quickly identified these projectors as having unrivalled advantage over existing projection systems, for many high-end visualisation and general projection applications.
The SRX-T420 combines 8.8 megapixel ultra high resolution with 21K lumen brightness to extend the well established SXRD 4K family of projectors into applications calling for higher brightness.
The SRX-T420 combines new features such as new chassis design, improved optical engine and single lamp operation while maintaining compatibility with the existing ranges of lenses and input cards and operational interface. Users can benefit from enhanced performance while retaining compatibility with existing systems.
Ultra high resolution projection
Exceptionally high native resolution of 8.8 megapixels configured as 4096 (H) x 2160 (V) to clearly display the most detailed images without artefacts
Pixels from the SRX-T420 are approx. ¼ the size of pixels from an HD projector for a given screen. Images are free from any visible pixel structure even when viewed close to the screen
The ultra-high resolution of the SRX-T420 is more than FOUR times the resolution of an HD projector which can make system configuration simpler and more cost effective by removing the need for multiple projectors with edge blending
Lower resolution HD images benefit from being automatically up-converted to 4K equivalent images for display by the SXRD 4K panel
High brightness, high contrast projection
The SRX-T420 is the brightest 4K projector on the market to ensure high light levels on larger screens with exceptionally good contrast images
The high brightness capability enables the SRX-T420 to better substitute for multiple projectors with edge blending or to be able to provide good light levels on large screens for presenting to large audiences in an auditorium
Superb colour tonal reproduction
The SRX-T420 is design for the most critical picture applications. The xenon lamp used in the projector achieves a wide colour range, assuring a rich tone of colour reproduction
The projector also features a Colour Space Conversion (CSC) function and gamma curve selection to ensure that industry standard colour space and gray scale is achieved for critical applications
Flexible input configuration
The SRX-T420 has utilises Quad inputs to handle input signals up to 8.8Mega pixel resolution. The four input slots can be configured with DVI-D or. HD-SDI input cards depending on the image source device
Alternatively input card slots can be configured with a combination of different input cards for maximum flexibility when handling HD signals
1 x DVI-D input is fitted as standard.
Features
8.8 megapixel resolution at 4096(H) x 2160(V)
The 4096 x 2160 native resolution of the SXRD 4K panel represents over FOUR times the resolution of full HD (1920 x 1080 pixel) projectors
The panel can display a single ultra high resolution image up to 4096 x 2160 pixels or be switched to simultaneously display separate images in Quad HD or Dual HD configuration on-screen
Tiny pixel size and inter-pixel spacing
The on-screen pixels projected by the SRX-T420 projector are approximately ¼ of the size of pixels displayed by HD projectors, for any given screen size
Additionally the SXRD 4K display panel has tiny inter-pixel spacing to ensure that no pixel structure can be seen in the on-screen image when viewed at close quarters.
High brightness projection
The SRX-T420 delivers a maximum of 21K lumens brightness. The lamp power can be adjusted between 51% and 100% power to suit individual installations and bulb life.
High contrast ratio
High contrast ratio of typically 3000:1 to ensure realistic tonal detail.
Accurate colour reproduction
Xenon lamps in the projectors provide a wide colour space and colour tonal reproduction. The CSC function of the SRX-T110 ensures that the projector can be set to the desired colour space, such as the ITU-R BT.709-3 standard or DCDM (Digital Cinema Distribution Master) colour space
Wide Signal Compatibility
The SRX-T420 can be configured with up to four input cards handling either DVI-D signals or HD-SDI high definition video signals
A single LKRI-003 input card can accommodate dual-link HD-SDI (4:4:4) conforming to SMPTE 372M or HD-SDI (4:2:2) conforming to SMPTE 292M
A single LKRI-005 DVI-D input card with HDCP compatibility can accommodate a wide range of signals in Progressive format from WUXGA (1920 x 15000) down to XGA (1024 x 768)
Input cards in Quad configuration are used to input ultra high resolution images up to 4096 x 2160 pixels
The SRX-T420 is supplied with 1 x DVI-D input pre-installed
Variety of lens options
The LKRL-90, x0.9 fixed focal length lens for rear projection in visualisation applications
The LKRL-Z series of zoom lenses offers solutions for a range of installations requiring throw ratios from 1:1 to 7:1
Most lenses in the LKRL-Z series have a lens memory function enabling the zoom and focus settings for a number of image formats to be stored in the projector memory for quick reframing when switching between sources with different image formats
