Sony Pocketbit USM64GQXN 64GB USB 3.1 Flash Drive - 226MB/s, MB/s read, from a drive that weighs 14 grams.
Sony achieved it with two-channel access and high-performance flash - thesame approach SSDs use, in a body 69 mm long. For comparison, the sameseries reads 110 MB/s at 8GB and 200 MB/s at 16GB; 64GB is the fastest ofthem.
The body is hairline-finished aluminium rather than plastic. Japaneseowners consistently mention this first: the machined-aluminium look, andthat it survives being loose in a bag for years.
The connector retracts with a knock-slide mechanism - one push and it comesout, one push and it is away. No cap to lose, and nothing protruding tosnap off in a laptop bag.
Data access LED. Strap hole. LB File Lock 2 encryption software included.

Sony publish the read figure. Write speed is lower, as on every flash drive -if you are moving large files ONTO the drive, expect it to take longer thancopying them off.
The figure is measured under the manufacturer's conditions and requires aUSB 3.0 or faster port. Plugged into USB 2.0, the drive works but is limitedto around 40 MB/s by the port.
THE ENCRYPTION SOFTWARE IS WINDOWS ONLY
LB File Lock 2 is a Windows application. The drive itself works normally onmacOS and Linux; the bundled software does not.
FORMAT BEFORE FIRST USE ON MACSupplied formatted for Windows compatibility. For Mac-only use, reformattingto APFS or Mac OS Extended gives better performance - but note that reformatsthe drive.
For moving files between Windows and Mac, leave it as supplied.
