Up for sale is a Sony PictureBook PCG-C1MSX imported from Japan. Please see the pictures for the condition of the system.
Model-correct box is included, but the serial on the box label does not match serial of the system. No packaging material inside, just the outer box - all accessories and the computer will be bubble wrapped inside it though, just know that the box with has no other packaging material included.
The system has a Transmeta Crusoe processor 860 MHz and 256MB RAM installed. I believe there is a 40GB hard drive installed partitioned into two partitions? Which would match the specs on the box.
Comes with one battery, the large capacity battery which holds a charge - I don’t know for how long, but it will power the system while unattached to the wall charger. No other battery included.
Includes port expansion adapter and wall charger as well as a set of system restore discs and a CD drive.
Cosmetically, the system is in great condition, but not perfect. There are a few flaws to note, including a hairline crack on the plastic screen bezel. Please read through the imperfections:
A few flaws to note:
1.) There is a hairline crack on the screen bezel at the right side near the hinge. The crack doesn’t go all the way across the plastic, just stops near the edge of the bezel so it is not falling out or feels like it needs attention. It might be a stress crack due to the screw near it, but the hinges feel firm and stiff and not loose.
2.) The power/barrel jack on the system is very loose. You can still connect a charger and charge the battery while connected to the power adapter, but the adapter will fall out easily with little movement on the system. I’d recommend getting this repaired or using the system on a good flat surface if running off the wall charger.
3.) The camera works as shown in the pics, but you may have to reinstall Smart Capture (or just reinstall everything) as the program doesn’t seem to work as intended. I’ve also had to stop the program through the Task Manager and reopen it just to get it working properly recently.
4.) The caps lock button does not work. Not sure if it is a software issue or if the button physically doesn’t register. It might need cleaning, or else it could be a connection issue; the caps lock button light doesnt light up and caps do not lock. Num lock works so I know the software is registering, but keep in mind the one button is not registering even thought it feels normal when pressed.
