This Sun Blade 2500 Red workstation features dual 1.28GHz UltraSPARC IIIi processors, 2GB RAM, and a DVD drive.

IMPORTANT: The workstation powers on but fails POST due to hardware errors. It is being sold AS-IS, FOR PARTS OR REPAIR.

The workstation was tested using the built-in OpenBoot POST diagnostics and reported the following failures:

1. CPU Initialization Failure

The system reports a timeout while waiting for the master processor during startup.

ERROR: TEST = Slave Spin

Timeout waiting for master, doing re-config reset.

2. CPU0 Memory Failure

The workstation fails the Data Bitwalk memory diagnostic, reporting errors involving:

• CPU0 Bank0 DIMM1

• CPU0 Bank1 DIMM0

• CPU0 Bank1 DIMM1

The diagnostic output reports memory data mismatches, failed pin checks, and the following message:

No good memory available on master CPU 0, rolling over to new Master.

3. CPU0 / Motherboard Failure

During processor initialization, the system reports:

Fatal CPU error on slave 0, offlining this cpu.

Followed by:

FATAL ERROR!!

Unexpected Trap!

The system does not complete POST or boot into an operating system.

Important Condition Notice

The diagnostic results indicate possible problems involving CPU0, system memory, and/or the motherboard.

The exact defective component has not been identified. Replacing the memory alone may not resolve the problem.

Individual components have not been independently verified as working, and additional hardware issues may exist.
