Synology DiskStation DS3622xs+ 12-Bay NAS (Upgraded w/ 48 GB RAM, 2× 1 TB NVMe Cache) Used (Great Condition) Product Details
The Synology DiskStation DS3622xs+ is a 12-bay desktop NAS built for small and mid-sized businesses and home labs. Powered by a 6-core / 12-thread Intel Xeon D-1531 with ECC memory support and dual onboard 10GbE ports, it's rated by Synology at up to 4,719 MB/s sequential read and over 260,000 4K random read IOPS.
This unit is used but in great condition, and was my daily driver for several years. I have made several hardware upgrades as outlined below, all of which are included when you purchase.
Upgrades Included
- ★ Memory upgraded from 16 GB to 48 GB (DDR4-2666): the maximum this model supports. Configured as 2× 8 GB original Synology modules plus 2× 16 GB Arch Memory D4ES01-16G modules. Note: this unlocks Synology's larger 200 TB single-volume limit (vs. 108 TB on the stock 16 GB).
- ★ Synology E10M20-T1 M.2 SSD & 10GbE combo card installed, which adds 2× M.2 NVMe slots and 1× 10GbE RJ-45 port. The card was added primarily for the M.2 slots, since the DS3622xs+ already has two onboard 10GbE ports
- ★ 2× 1 TB Seagate FireCuda 530 NVMe SSDs installed on the E10M20-T1 card, which were used as read/write SSD cache for the device. SMART data available upon request.
- ★ Stock fans replaced with be quiet! Silent Wings 4, which are meaningfully quieter. Stock fans are included in the box just in case.
- ★ Acoustic dampening added inside the chassis: soft Velcro strips around the edges of each drive bay to reduce vibration noise. Easy to remove if desired.
