What it does: plug it into your car's OBD-II port (under the dash on most gas cars and light trucks sold in the U.S. since 1996). Once it's activated on a T-Mobile SyncUP DRIVE plan, you get an in-car 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot for passengers' phones and tablets, GPS location and trip history, vehicle health and battery alerts, and roadside assistance, all managed in T-Mobile's T-Life app. No charging needed. It powers from the car.
