What this system actually doesThis is a mesh system, not a cheap plug-in “Wi-Fi extender.”
• Router mode: One unit plugs into your modem with Ethernet and becomes the main router. The second unit is a satellite node. Devices roam under one network name. This replaces a standalone router + extender setup.
• Access Point mode: Keep your existing ISP router and use both Deco units as a mesh Wi-Fi layer behind it.
• Satellite / coverage node: After the first unit is set up, the second unit joins the same Deco network over Wi-Fi or over Ethernet backhaul (more stable if you have a cable run).
The main Deco must have a wired Ethernet connection to the modem or existing router. It does not wirelessly attach to some other brand’s Wi-Fi like a range extender. Extra Deco units can be added later to the same mesh.
2-pack coverage is typically advertised around 4,500 sq ft (3-pack is the 6,500 sq ft rating). Real range depends on walls and placement.

ConditionUsed, good. Factory plastic is still on the tops of both units. Bottoms and ports are clean. Light dust/marks on the black tops consistent with storage — see photos. LEDs light (blue shown during setup). Units have been factory reset.
