FABRIC: exterior 100% textured black nylon that looks like canvas. Interior 100% smooth black nylon.
APPROXIMATE MEASUREMENTS: overall height 14.5” x width 11.5” x depth 3.5”. Many 15.6” laptops are 14” tall x 9.25”wide. Measure your laptop to verify fit. The front flap has a 10.5” x 7.5” zippered pocket on it with a 10” zipper and 2 plastic buckles with adjustable straps. The large main compartment under this flap is fully zippered and is 14.5” x 11.5” x 3.5” deep. Attached to the front of the main bag is an open top pocket that’s 13” tall x 10.5” wide x 1.5” deep, with a deep zippered pocket and organizational smaller pocket and pen loops inside. The outer part of this open pocket has another zippered pocket attached to it, that’s 9.5” x 10.5”. Altogether there are 4 YKK zippered pockets.
DESIGN: This vertical messenger style bag can be carried 3 different ways. There are 2 tote handles at the top with padded hand grips. They are 14” in length each between points of attachment, and are not adjustable. There is the traditional shoulder strap that’s of heavy 1.5” webbing, with an 11” long heavily padded 2.5” wide nylon insert for shoulder comfort that’s also non-slip. The strap itself is 44” long and can be adjusted by 2 sturdy plastic buckles. The loops and lobster claw clips on both sides are black metal. When fully extended it can be a crossbody strap. Or shortened to be a shoulder bag strap. The back of the bag seems plain by comparison, with an attached loop and clip to which one can add a carabiner. On the opposite side is a 6” zipped narrow compartment housing extra narrow straps and buckles that can also go through this loop and clip. North Face gives you this extra strap option as a place to drape a jacket or sweatshirt across the back of the bag. This actually gives you a 5th zippered pocket.
This unassuming Messenger bag is deceiving, as it’s loaded with so many workhorse features, 3 ways to carry, and the quality that goes into all of The North Face products.
