This month I replaced the hard drive, ethernet card, video card and battery, the modem and reinstalled WIndows 98 with all necessary drivers reinstalled and tested all hardware. It is now ready to install your favorite applications, from floppy diskette, CD, or from a USB flash drive.This is a large desktop case with lots of scratches on the case top, but nothing bent or missing. With a CD ROM, floppy drive and hard drive installed there is still one exposed 5.25" drive bay. The 200W ATX power supply. connects to a removable riser board in the center of the caseThe heart of the system is a proprietary motherboard with Intel's 440BX chipset. It supports Slot 1 Celeron, Pentium II or Pentium III CPUs up to 500 MHz. I include a 400 MHz Intel Pentium III processor with a 100 MHz FSB and 512KB cache. There are three 168-pin sockets for SDRAM, two of which are filled with a 64MB and a 128MB DIMM for 192MB RAM, upgradeable to 384MB The Intel motherboard includes connectors for two PS/2 ports, two USB 1.1 ports, a parallel port and a two serial ports. One PCI slot is filled with a 3Com 10/100 ethernet card. There is still one free ISA expansion slot and two free PCI slots. The 3.3V AGP slot has an ATI Rage 128 with 16MB SDRAM. Although the video card does not have the proprietary Compaq backplate, it is screwed into place.The original floppy drive and Compaq 32X CD ROM are both working.
