Rare, 2006 version. Sealed in shrinkwrap is this Apple iSight camera for Macintosh systems with FireWire. This product is genuine Apple OEM. Model number M9330LL/C. This is the rare newer version with closing lens.
Note: The primary difference between the OLDER Apple iSight camera models M8817LL (released ~2003) and the NEWER Apple iSight model M9330LL/C (released ~2006) is that the newer M9330LL/C features an improved built-in lens cover acting as an aperture to physically block the camera, whereas the M8817LL was the original, earlier iteration of the same external FireWire camera.
Lens/Cover: The M9330LL/C features a rotating "ring" that acts as an ON/OFF switch, closing a physical aperture over the lens for privacy, as described on this page.
Release Date: The OLDER M8817LL debuted around July 2003, while the newer M9330LL (and its variants like M9330LL/C) was released around January 2006.

General Info: These iSight Cameras were produced from 2003 to 2006, when they were finally discontinued. System requirements are PowerPC G3, G4, G5 or Intel Core Duo or Intel Core Duo Processors, with Mac OS X 10.3 and newer. FireWire 400 connection required, FireWire 800 connector may be used with a FireWire 800 to 400 converter adapter, Thunderbolt to FireWire connections may be supported with eligible systems, but will require the correct Thunderbolt to FireWire 800 and FireWire 800 to FireWire 400 adapters, which must be purchased separately. Some features will also requireiChat AV application and internet access.
Factory box is sealed, never opened, never used. The condition of the original inner cardboardpackage is very good to perfect. The condition of the outer shrink-wrap is very good with onlysubtle light scratches on the clear plastic. Impressive for a 20 year old item.
