Up for sale is an absolute time capsule from the turn of the millennium: An immaculate, cosmetic-mint Sony VAIO PCG-953A notebook computer. The only flaw I noticed is the rubber foot pads are missing.
Manufactured domestically in San Diego, California around 2001, this premium laptop is a beautiful piece of computing history. This machine features the highly sought-after original factory case badge designed for Windows 2000 Professional / Windows Millennium Edition (Me).
If you are a vintage tech collector, retro PC gamer, or tech archivist, you know how incredibly rare it is to find a VAIO from this generation that hasn't been heavily scratched, cracked, or thrashed.✨ Condition Highlights:• Cosmetics: Immaculate condition. The plastic chassis, purple accent trims, top lid, and palm rests show beautifully with virtually no notable wear.
• Hinges & Screen: The hinges are perfectly firm and tight, holding the screen securely. The display panel glass is entirely clean and intact.
• Keyboard & Trackpad: All keys are bright, intact, and responsive with a perfect springy tactile feel. The tracking surface shows zero worn-down spots.
• Hardware Intact: Includes the original internal hardware architecture, including the integrated 3.5" Floppy Drive and CD/DVD reader tray.⚙️ Technical Specifications (Factory Standard):• CPU: Intel Mobile Pentium III @ 750MHz with SpeedStep
• RAM: PC100 SDRAM updated to 512 MB
• Media Drives: Integrated 3.5" 1.44MB Floppy Drive + CD-RW/DVD-ROM Combo Drive
• I/O Legacy Ports: 2x USB 1.1, VGA, Parallel Printer Port, RJ-45 Ethernet, RJ-11 Modem, PCMCIA Card Slot⚠️ Testing & Functionality Notes:• Power Cord: NOT INCLUDED (Requires a standard Sony 19.5V AC Adapter with a 6.5mm x 4.4mm barrel tip, original part number PCGA-AC19V1).
• Functionality: Sold strictly Untested / As-Is / For Parts or Repair simply because I do not own the matching charging brick to power it on.
• Battery: Included, but due to its vintage age, it should be assumed to hold little to no charge.
This laptop is an incredible candidate for a quick restoration project, a dedicated retro gaming build (perfect for native late-90s PC gaming), or a high-end display piece for a collection.
